Your Questions About Best Garden Shed Plans

Carol asks…
Shed foundation Question for Virginia resident?
I’m in the process of building a 12X12 garden shed on a gradual slope. I was initially going to use precast pier blocks since the building will be on a slight incline, but after talking with several people, they suggested using builder tubes in order to prevent issues with settling. This brings me to my first question. If I use treated 2x6 lumber for the foundation, how many builder tubes will I need in order to properly support the shed? I’m going to be storing things such as generators, mowers, and pressure washers in the shed so there will be a little weight in it. My last question regarding the foundation is what is the best foundation design to anchor the foundation to the concrete columns? I found these plans on the internet here that is using 2x6 as a sill that is placed over the cement blocks. If I were to put an L-Bolt anchor into the concrete column when it is poured, can I then just drill a hole in the sill in order to fasten it to the column? Thanks for the suggestions and help in this matter.
landscapeliving answers:
If you are going use 2x6s for your sub floor i would use 8.your 4 corners
and your 4 on center between the corners.if you use 2x8 i would think
just the 4 corners would be enough.(sonotube filled with cement) make
sure you put the crown of the board up.if you go with the 4x4 suggestion
do not set them in concrete! They will absorb moisture crack the
concrete and eventually rot. When you pour your cement set an anchor
bolt in it (1/2x8 with hook on the end). As used in foundations. Now
you can use post bracket to set your post on (buy them at Lowe's or
home depot) or drill a 5/8 hole in a block of wood and bolt it to the top
of the pier. Then you can nail your band board to the block of wood.
(block on the inside of course) note: make sure your piers are level
and layed out square.

First, is there any one of these that sounds like it could be fun? I know, speech does not equal fun. But which one would you talk to friends about?
The ones that stand out to me are these:
Will I get there in time?
You could talk about your future, and maybe helping your country, or seeing surprising things in the future. That could be quite inspiring.

This one is all about history and the making of history in the future. Obama is the first black president, true. Argue that he doesn't have to be the last one if we don't think he's perfect after four years. As humans, we judge a lot from a single representative or instance. Argue that, no matter what, Obama should be judged not just as a black President but rather a president just as any previous president should be judged on what happened during the Presidency and not on where they came from.

Cute ducklings become adult ducks in about 6-8 weeks did you know that? These are some of mine aged nearly 4 weeks and they have their adult feathers coming through http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n283/myjugsarehuge/32292e4b.jpg
Ducks are messy creatures who poop bigs splats of squidgy poo everywhere and ruin your garden by constant dabbling. They literally wreck the place this is why I sold mine. They can live for 6 or 7 years, are you going to be living at home that long to care for them?
If you do have some ducks they need a big pen with lots of grass, ducks must have grass to eat. You need high fencing, about 5ft high (with some shade from the sun) so they are safe from predators like foxes and mink. Domestic ducks don't usually fly so there is no need to clip their wings. They need access to water at all times even as tiny ducklings or they will die. When they are older they need a pond/pool for swimming and bathing, from around a week old you can give them little tray of water about 1-2 inches deep to practice swimming in. Bathing keeps their feathers in good order.
When they are young they eat proprietary chick/waterfowl crumb and then when they are older they need adult waterfowl/chicken layers pellets. They will eat left over bread crumbled up, pasta, rice (no salt), chopped boiled peelings, greens etc etc.
They don't go to roost (sleep) until its dark which is often 11pm in the summer so you have to be there to shut the shed door. You have to be around every day to let them out, feed them and shut them away at night, its a big responsibility if you are not around someone else has to do this.
What will you do if your ducks are males? If you are getting ducklings you won't know what sex they are. Only female ducks lay eggs and if you have more males than females the males mate with the females constantly and can end up killing them from over mating. This happened to my my duck she drowned in the bath of water because the male kept mating her.
Make sure you do your research, are ducks really the pet for you? Guinea pigs might be easier?

Nancy asks…
am i over-reacting?
Okay, well I’ve like this guy for about a year, maybe more and we’ve never had a relationship but we’ve been really good friends and we have unfinished business (he used to like me, and then i used to like him). So quite a bit of ST (sexual tension) overall. Then at my 16th birthday party one of my best friends (there’s a group of 4 of us) was discovered by my other friends making out with him on the floor of my garden shed. He had had nine beers and she doesn’t drink. I was really upset about it when I found out so I planned to talk to her when she told me for herself. Before I got a chance she had taken his number from my phone without asking and texted him. The next day I found out that he couldn’t remember a thing and if she hadn’t of texted him he wouldn’t even have realized he‘d got with someone. So I rang her after I found this out and spoke to her about how the whole thing upset me. She said she forgot about the fact that I liked him cz she was caught up in the moment. The next day she texted me telling me that she thought I should know that they were going on a date this coming Thursday. She used the excuse that I’ve got a boyfriend now so why should I care, but I know if it was the other way around ( which doesn’t bear thinking about) she would hate me. As a group we’ve always been so close and said hoe’s over bro’s. Am I wrong to be really upset about all this?
landscapeliving answers:
That was too long and boring for me to read the whole thing.
But if you are a girl, the answer to, "Am I over-reacting", is always "yes"!
